Written and facilitated by Catherine O’Riordan
Relational Developmental Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist (MBACP / UKCP)
The focus of this ‘Your Inner Child’ workshop is on how to work with adults to help them process childhood trauma and shame using the ‘Inner Child’ metaphor, whilst at the same time nurturing their ‘Adult’ self and liberating their ‘Eternal Inner Child’. This is a relational and developmental approach which seeks to facilitate self integration and healing.
Drawing on my clinical experience, research as well as various humanisitc and psychodynamic underpinnings, I share my clinical model of inner child work which is a dynamic model and seeks to facilitate the growth of the whole person whilst working with their various parts. To help the day be as experiential and participative as possible I will not use powerpoint
In the confines of confidentiality you will explore your own experiences of connecting with your ‘Wounded Inner Child’ as well as your experiences clinically of working with the client and their ‘Wounded Inner Child’. Participants will be invited to reflect on themselves and their client work from within the Inner Child model being presented at the workshop. Prior to the workshop I will ask you to complete a short pre-workshop assignment which you will use on the workshop day.
Following the workshop resources like handouts and a bibliography will be emailed to participants. .
The next workshop is 24th November, Jury’s Inn, Nottingham NG2 3BJ 10am-4.30pm and costs £75.There are 20 places. You will be given an attendance certificate for 6 hours.
